plea
お願い・懇願・口実・抗弁
この plea という単語、簡単に見えますが使い方はなかなか難しいオトナとボキャブラリーなのです。
お願いがその意味ですが、切実に懇願することに近いですね。
plea はむしろ法定用語として

あるいは形を変えて
【動】 plead 申し立てる・懇願する

などとして出てくることが多いのです。
