Kansai International Airport - 関空で乗客が「孤立」

関西国際空港が大変なことです。
昨日通過した台風２１号の影響で、大阪湾のいろんな施設が浸水しました。
中でも関空ではタンカーと連絡橋が衝突して損傷が発生し、乗客が空港島に取り残される事態になりました。
今日は高速船や臨時バスを使って、海を挟んだ神戸空港や泉佐野まで乗客を輸送しています。

The transport ministry said the airport closed all of its runways at noon and shut down the entire facility from 3 p.m. due to flooding.
国交省によると、浸水の影響により関空は正午にすべての滑走路を閉鎖し、３時にはすべての施設を閉鎖したということだ。

皮肉にも、９月４日は１９９４年に開港した関空の開港記念日だったんですね！
私も個人的に思い入れがあります。開港して間もない頃に、学生アルバイトで空港から大阪中心部へ向かう南海特急「ラピート」やJR特急「はるか」の乗り方を、到着した外国人の旅行者に案内するという仕事をやりました。
